Trixon Wine Co.
Located in Monterey County, California, Trixon Wine Company is the brainchild of vintner Patrick Jackson. The winery crafts traditional Iberian Peninsula varietals in honor of Jackson’s D’Araujo lineage, whose origins trace back to the Galicia region of Northwest Spain and later traversed Hawaii and the Azores en route to America.
Trixon Wine Company espouses a pro-biodiversity ethos by cultivating all its varietals organically and limiting additive usage to the bare minimum. Notably, the Garnacha undergoes 100% whole-cluster fermentation, while the Albariño is barrel fermented.

This wine shows beautiful bouquet of Calamansi lime, green mango, and grapefruit, with an electric acidity accompanied with the perfect balance of oakiness, acidity, and minerality.
This Albariño can be enjoyed now, or aged through 2032+, and pairs beautifully with oysters, crab, and other shellfish, as well as high-fat meats like pork belly.

The Albariño grapes that produced this wine are nestled within the middle of the Gularte Family Vineyard located on the foothills of Mount Toro in Monterey County, California.
The vines are situated in a unique section of the vineyard, with a North-to-South row direction and Northwest-facing slopes.
This beautiful area of River Road is where Wayne Gularte endeavored in his many careful studies and years of trials before determining that this particular part of the vineyard would best suit the Albariño.

The slope of the terrain at Gularte Vineyard allows for the late-maturing fruit to draw in the afternoon sun of autumn, minimizing sunburn while the clusters are sheltered from the chilly morning breezes that often occur at that time of year.
The gradient of this vineyard helps to enhance the maturity of the fruit, with its long hang-time yielding a crisp spectrum of finely-crafted wine.
The 2021 Trixon Wine Co. Albariño was harvested on October 20, 2021 at 6 AM ensuring cold fruit arrived to the winery.
The wine was whole-cluster pressed, then held at 38 degrees for 10 days before racked into barrels (10% new) for fermentation, aged utilizing bâtonnage to enhance mouthfeel.

Patrick Jackson
Patrick graduated from Fresno State with a double major in Viticulture and Enology, and a Minor in Chemistry. While at Fresno State, he was the Vice President of the Enology Society, and Senior Research Assistant and Winemaker for the Grape Rot project.
After graduation, he worked as Assistant Winemaker at Joullian Vineyards in Carmel Valley. There, he worked towards making Joullian more sustainable with their Winemaking and Vineyard Practices. After 2 years, he worked briefly as Lab Manager for a large wine company but realized that winemaking on that scale did not suit him. So he left for Morgan Winery to become their Assistant Winemaker. The only Organically certified vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands, Morgan Winery helped hone Patrick’s love for organics. Patrick was blessed to make Pinot, Chardonnay, and Syrah from some of the most prestigious vineyards in the American Viticultural Area of Monterrey County.
In 2018, Patrick enrolled in Santa Clara University to successfully pursue a Master’s Degree in Business with a concentration in Food Entrepreneurship. In 2019 he founded Trixon Wine Co.
When not making wine or studying, Patrick can be found spending time with his wife and daughter, along with their 3 dogs and cat. He loves the ocean and spends as much time as possible surfing and outrigger canoe paddling.
